December 3 - 1995 'Kiwis' tour commemorated

The NZ Army touring side defeated East Midlands in Bedford on December 3 1995. The Army tour was commemorating the 50th anniversary of the famous tour by the NZEF “Kiwis” in 1945/6.

NEW ZEALAND ARMY IN BRITAIN AND GERMANY

In October 1995 a New Zealand Army team was selected to tour Britain and Germany, playing six games. The tour commemorated the 50th anniversary of Victory in Europe and the 1945 “Kiwis” tour, with the team using the old-style numbering of fullback wearing No I and a prop No 15. Several members of the 1945-46 Army team accompanied the team.

Ewins, H. Morete, J. Cook, D H. Jones, L.T. Renwick, S. Boyer, M. Gates, K. Crossan (Burnham), S. Poching(Auckland), L.E. Wills, P. Raukawa,J.M. Smith (Waiouru), M. Hemi, B. Robinson (Hobsonville).
