Cory Jane came to the fore in 2006 when he made his debut for the New Zealand Sevens team at the AXA New Zealand International Sevens tournament in Wellington in February.
A month later, he helped the New Zealand team win Sevens gold at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
Jane went on to play two matches for the 2006 New Zealand Maori side, scoring a hat-trick of tries in the team's win over the United States in the Churchill Cup.
Jane will pull on his third national jersey when he plays for the 2007 Junior All Blacks in the IRB Pacific Nations tournament.
A very quick man Jane is hard to stop given a chance on the burst. His attacking flair is complemented with his no-nonsense attitude to defence.
Jane finished the 2006 Air New Zealand Cup as Wellington's leading try scorer and his impressive run of form earned him a place in the Hurricanes squad for the first time in 2007.
Career notes
• He scored three tries in his first five matches playing for the Hurricanes in the Rebel Sport Super 14 in 2007.
